On our way back to our Airbnb from a lovely day in Warburton, Peter and I decided to stop in Seville — and what a decision that turned out to be!

The scenery around Seville was already something to admire. Rolling hills, and pockets of rich, green countryside had us pulling over more than once just to take it all in.

But nothing prepared us for what we discovered at the top of Seville Hill Winery.

As we arrived at the winery, we were stunned into silence.

The scenic beauty was simply breathtaking.

Vineyards stretched out in every direction, their rows tinged with the warm reds, oranges, and golds of autumn.

The surrounding landscape framed it perfectly — cherry trees in a row and mountains in the distance added to the sense of calm and natural splendour.

Established in 1991 by John and Josie D’Aloisio, this family-run winery has evolved from a former fruit orchard into a boutique gem of the Yarra Valley. It’s known for its elegant, fruit-driven wines — and it’s easy to see how such a beautiful setting could inspire such craftsmanship. Initially focused on reds like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the winery now also offers delightful whites, sparkling wines, and even dessert styles.

We spent a while at the viewing platform, which offers a sweeping panorama of the vineyards and gardens.

It was the perfect place to sit back and imagine a warm summer’s day with live jazz playing under the large elms during one of their popular Summer Jazz sessions.

They even host art and wine experiences — can you think of a better backdrop for painting than this?

There’s something peaceful about Seville Hill. It doesn’t try to impress — it simply does.

With terraced lawns, mature gardens, and a lasy kind of atmosphere, it invites you to pause, glass of wine in hand, soaking in the serenity.

If you’re ever wandering through the Yarra Valley in autumn — or any season, really — Seville Hill Winery is worth a stop. Even if it’s just to admire the view.
And just like that, the day stretched quietly into the late afternoon.

And we made our way back to our little corner of the world — at least for one more night — at The Cherry Boys Farm in Wandin North.

This charming, family-owned fig orchard spans 30 acres of working farmland, nestled in the heart of the Yarra Valley.

We’re staying here for three nights, and I’ve completely fallen in love with it.

There’s something incredibly peaceful about watching the light shift over the orchard, hearing the birds, and simply breathing in the quiet.

I can already imagine how magical it will be in spring, when the wisteria around the cabins bursts into bloom.

Each season has its own rhythm and beauty — and while I’m firmly an autumn lover, I know I’ll be back at different times of the year. I can’t wait to see how this place transforms with the seasons, the weather, and the changing light.

And yes, I’ll be taking home some figs to make fig paste. I’m officially in love with all things figs now! Hahaa!
A piece of my heart has definitely been left here.

I love discovering places like this — where nature invites you to slow down and simply be. Where it’s easy to notice the little things: the soft light through leaves, the quiet rustle of the trees, the way beauty stirs something deep in the soul.
As we wrap up our time here, I leave with a full heart — grateful for moments like these that linger long after the travel blog post has been written and shared.
