This weekend is one I have looked forward to for so long—a three-night getaway at Phillip Island with my children and grandchildren.

We arrived yesterday, and today has been all about total relaxation.

I set out for an early morning walk before most of the house was awake, enjoying the peaceful beach, the gentle rhythm of the waves, and the company of the local birdlife.

There’s something so calming about being near the water, especially in the easy holiday atmosphere of Phillip Island.

Later in the morning, we all walked to a local café for coffee, choosing to sit outside and soak in the fresh air.

The weather has been a little too warm for my liking, but so far, I’ve managed to survive!

One of the highlights of the day was our unexpected visitors— a wallaby hopped into our front yard as if to say hello, and vibrant rainbow lorikeets filled the trees, adding even more colour to our surroundings.

The eucalyptus trees are in flower at the moment.

This attracts the local birdlife, adding even more beauty to the surroundings.

Phillip Island truly is a wonderful place to slow down and take it easy.

The gum trees are full of gumnuts, adding a lovely touch to the landscape.

As I wandered through the quiet streets, I couldn’t help but smile when I came across the intersection of Church Street and Justice Street.
Something about seeing those two words together felt like a little moment of wisdom from God — perhaps a reminder that grace and law should be balanced. Not mutually exclusive, but rather complementary. Of course, I had to take a picture!

This weekend already feels special, and I’m savouring every moment.

In the afternoon, we did some shopping and spent time at Cowes.

I’m looking forward to what the rest of the weekend will bring.
