I’m back at Phillip Island—turns out, I couldn’t stay away for long.

This time, my friend Dana is visiting all the way from Florida, so I’m here with her and some of my family, soaking up the beauty of this special place.

We’ve booked a wonderful Airbnb with a backyard that feels like a private retreat, complete with a sauna, spa, and even a pool table.

It’s been the perfect setting for relaxation, and we’ve made sure to take full advantage of it since we arrived two days ago.

This morning, Peter and I started the day with a walk along the beach.

There’s something about the sea here that always draws me in—the endless stretch of waves rolling gently to shore, the salty breeze on my face, and the soft sand underfoot.

The rhythm of the ocean is both soothing and invigorating.

The world felt peaceful, as if time had slowed just for us.

We walked in comfortable silence, pausing now and then to admire the view, watching the morning light dance on the water.

As we walked, we spotted seagulls hovering in the sky, and the occasional piece of driftwood washed up on the shore. The water shimmered under the morning light, a mesmerising mix of deep blue and turquoise.

It was one of those peaceful moments that remind me why I love coming here.

In the afternoon, we all piled into the car and took a short drive to San Remo, just over the bridge from Phillip Island.

We timed it perfectly to watch the pelicans being fed—a spectacle that never gets old.

Their long beaks and comical expressions never fail to amuse me. Tourists and locals alike gathered around, cameras clicking, children laughing as the pelicans flapped their wings and jostled for position. It’s a simple but wonderful experience, one that brings people together in shared delight.

It was fascinating to watch.

Afterward, we stayed by the water for a classic coastal meal—fish and chips by the shore.

Sitting there, enjoying crispy golden fish with the sound of waves in the background, felt like the perfect way to spend the day.

There’s nothing quite like simple, fresh food in a beautiful setting, shared with good company.

Phillip Island always has a way of making me feel at ease, and this trip has been no different.

It always feels like a place of restoration and happiness.

And with Dana here, it makes it even more special.

With the sea, the fresh air, and the warmth of loved ones around me, I already know I’ll be back again soon.
